Digital Humanities at Berkeley seeks a GSR to provide program support for Spring - Fall 2016, including a summer appointment. This 50% position requires 20 hours per week and includes fee remission. Availability through Fall 2016 is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to commit 10 hours a week during summer. Some remote work may be negotiated. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a professional demeanor. No technical experience is required for this position. The GSR will be exposed to DH research in a variety of disciplines and develop highly sought-after skills in project management, evaluation, communications, and digital tools and methods.
The GSR will provide communications and logistical support for DH at Berkeley workshops and events. Responsibilities include developing a DH Fellows lecture series, curating a weekly newsletter and event calendar, and producing post-event reporting and analysis.
As a member of the DH curriculum development team, the GSR will join the Project Director in meeting with current and prospective faculty instructors and work with the Evaluation Fellow to develop evaluation components and implement an observation protocol for DH-funded courses. Interest and/or experience with evaluation and assessment is desirable, but not required.

Required Qualifications:
- detail-oriented and organized
- interest in the digital humanities
- enrolled as a graduate student at UC Berkeley
- consistently available for 20 hours per week
- comfortable with the Google Apps suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Calendar)
Desirable Qualifications:
- interest or experience in social media and communications
- interest or experience in graphic design
- interest or experience in pedagogy and curriculum
- experience using Qualtrics or other survey tools

Digital Humanities at Berkeley is a partnership between the Division of Arts & Humanities and Research IT. This four-grant program focuses on capacity building and integration on the Berkeley campus. DH at Berkeley brings together researchers, instructors, and staff from a variety of disciplines and centers around campus, such as: New Media, Spanish & Portuguese, the Bancroft Library, the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies, Near Eastern Studies, History, Art History, the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Archaeological Research Facility.
