Jane Raisch received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in English and Classics and she continues to work in those areas as a graduate student. She focuses on the reception of Greek in Early Modern English literature and the intersection between scholarship and poetics. In her dissertation project, “Fictions of Scholarship: Hermeneutics & Hellenism in Early Modern England,” she reimagines the period-defining narrative of the Renaissance as the age of classical rediscovery by investigating the distinctive impact of Greek antiquity on early modern English literature.
