The Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI) at the University of Victoria offers intensive week-long workshops on a variety of tools, methodologies, and theoretical frameworks for integrating digital humanities into your research and teaching. In 2014, UC Berkeley was a sponsor of the Institute, offering free or discounted tuition for the ten faculty members and graduate students who attended a wide range of workshops.
The Social Sciences Data Lab (356 Barrows) offers training and consulting to students and researchers interested in sharpening their technical skills and getting involved with data-driven research. D-Lab’s September training includes several beginner-friendly workshops that should be of interest to digital humanists.
Several digital humanities projects in the Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program have extended their deadlines to Friday, September 12th. Projects do not require extensive knowledge of subject matter, but will offer undergraduates opportunities to work with digital tools, databases, and archives.
